All documents must be originals:
- Passport or birth certificate/proof of citizenship combined with an ID-card
- CV (incl. photo)
- High-school diploma or equivalent certificate including all elected subjects and obtained grades
- If transferring from another Austrian university, you will also need to bring: Confirmation of Withdrawal and Record of Studies
- If your high-school diploma is not equivalent to the Austrian "Matura", please also bring the confirmation of admission from an acknowledged technical university located in the same country as the high-school from which you graduated
- Proof of German language proficiency (not older than 2 years):
- Austrian Language Diploma - ÖSD Zertifikat A2
- Goethe-Institut's Certificate - Goethe-Zertifikat A2
- German Language Diploma (Level I) of the German Standing Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs - Deutsches Sprachdiplom DSD I
- German Language Test for Higher Education - Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang DSH A

It is recommended to fill the application electronically.
1.) It is required to pre-register online and submit all the necessary documents before enrolling in your study programme.
2.)Once you show evidence of the above mentioned documents at the Registrar's Office (first floor, main building) you will receive registration folder and a form, which you will need to fill in in order to complete your admission.
3.)The students' union membership fee [ÖH-Beitrag] (EUR 20.20 per semester as of 2019/20) needs to be paid as quickly as possible. You can take your account data from the payment order you receive after registration.
It is necessary to use your reference number for the payment to be made!
Admission-E and Admission-B:
To complete your registration successfully the students’ union membership fee and the course fee for the University Preparation Program have to be paid immediately. You can take your account data from the payment order you receive after registration.

After matriculation at the Registrar’s Office it is important to register for the University Preparation Program at the OeAD Regional Office as well. There you receive your second payment order. The confirmation of payment for the University Preparation Program has to be shown to the responsible person of OeAD Regional Office.
4.)Once the transaction has gone through (2-3 working days), you can sign into your MU-Online account and sign-up for classes. For the first access to your MU-Online account, you will need the pin code given to you at registration.
Admission-E and Admission-B:
After receipt of the students’ union membership fee and the course fee for the University Preparation Program (approximately 2 – 3 working days) it is possible to activate your account. For your first registration for MU-Online the pin code is required, which you receive during registration.
Please note that this pin is only valid for 7 days!
If your pin has expired, you can get a new one from the Registrar`s Office. A manual on how to do this can be found in the userguide.
Applicants for the summer term 2019 have to submit a proof of German language proficiency at least at level A2 at the time of applying. We accept the following certificates:
- Goethe Institution A2
- ÖSD-Certificate A2
Certificates may not be older than 2 years.
If your proficiency in German has not yet reached a sufficient standard, then you can register at Montanuniversität as a non-degree student until you are able to document German language competence at the required level. Find more information here.

3.) Foreign Documents need to be translated into German or English by a certified translator, and legally certified.
